Synch bookmarks, last read position and books across readers
By having lots of platforms to chose from, add something like Kindle's whispersync so we can change devices and be in the same place. And to have bookmarks and notes available everywhere would be a dream come true! It's so frustrating having tools that almost work well in the classroom, at home, outside, in the car......sigh.
Bookshare is designing the code that will enable multiple readers to sync with each other and working with the various AT vendors who will hopefully adopt the new API calls! There will be a Bookshare API User meeting at ATIA in January – stay tuned!

Especially with the Web Reader, it makes no sense that your place is saved only on the computer you last used to read with. Defeats the whole purpose of the cloud. I find downloading to a particular computer and reading there just as easy as using the web reader unless I can save my place across multiple platforms: at work, home and while riding on my commute.

Why is there a cost for Read To Go for the MAC user and a free downlaod for the Android? Isn't BookShare a FREE service for those who need print support?

"We actually provide a standard webservice API to integrate directly into any number of device applications" in layman's terms this means.......or specifically?

I have a visually impaired teenage daughter it would be much easier to carry around a kindle or similar devise then a laptop. She could take this anywhere like a regular book, fitting in is very important.
