How can we improve Go Read?

Disable speech to text at certain times

Maybe I'm just clueless but I've looked through all the menus and the user manual. My daughter uses this and it's great to have text to speech when she's at home, but when she's at school, reading along with the class, it's annoying for her not to be able to just turn the pages to stay along with where the class is. Otherwise, she has to completely turn down the volume and keep pressing pause. She has CP so using a paper book is too hard. Is there a way to disable text to speech and just turn pages like a normal book?

        Hi Shari,

I received additional information from one of our Engineers, and was informed that the Text-To-Speech option can be disabled from the app similar to Read2Go. This will require additional development for the app. I've forwarded this information to our Product Managers so that they can log this as a feature request. In the mean time, you'll be able to disable the auto-read by either restarting the app and not selecting Read to me, or pressing and holding the back button.

The app does not have a separate Text-To-Speech Engine such as our Apple app. All sound comes through the the Android built in Text-To-Speech Engine. I'd like to see if you can do the following:

        1. Shut down Go Read completely.
        2. Access the Device Settings menu.
        3. Access Accessibility.
        4. Ensure that Accessibility is turned off.
        5. Re-launch the Go Read app.
        6. The voices will be turned off and she'll be able to navigate without any audio.
*Please note that once the Read to me option is selected the voice will turn on and stay turned on whenever she jumps to a different section of the book. To disable speech she can either exit and re-enter the app, or press and hold the back button until a screen comes up asking to to return to or close Go Read. Please have her select Return to, and that will put her back in the book with Read to me disabled.

Let me clarify. This is on an Android device. I know you can shut the sound off on the Apple app.
